The origins of Jell-O shots can be traced back to Jerry Thomas's 1868 book How to Mix Drinks or The Bon Vivant's Companion: The Bartender's Guide, in which he first mentioned how to make Jell-O shots. Over time, Jell-O shots have evolved into a popular alcoholic dessert drink for entertaining parties in North America. Users made their own jello shots for parties by combining wine, sugar and fruit juice and adding a coagulant. Jello shots have evolved and some companies have successfully developed ready-to-drink jello shots. Instead of mixing your own jelly wine for your party, you can simply buy a packaged jelly wine product and save time and effort. This has brought convenience to consumers and has increased the reach of Jell-O shots. It was also featured in the eighth episode of the fifth season of the popular young adult series The Vampire Diaries
Jelly wine, as the name suggests, is a wine that resembles jelly.
